What is a Solitaire Engagement Ring?

You've found your soulmate and now it's time to buy her the ring of her dreams. She filled you in on the fact that she wants a solitaire, but now you're wondering where to go from here. Well, here's everything you need to know about solitaire engagement rings

What is a Solitaire Engagement Ring?

When you think engagement ring, you think solitaire. Given the name, a solitaire engagement ring is a ring with a single center stone. Giving your fiance a solitaire engagement ring gives her the opportunity to show off her diamond in a timeless setting that will never go out of style.

Once you've decided on a solitaire, there are a few other considerations before you buy the ring:

Diamond Shape

Round, princess-cut, oval, pear, emerald-cut, or marquise...the shape of the diamond can change the entire look. If you're going for classic, a round diamond is the way to go, but switching it up can give her solitaire engagement ring a more unique flare.

The Band

Would she prefer a thin band? White, yellow, or rose gold? Does she want the band customized with a special message? Whatever you choose, make her ring timeless and true to her tastes.

The Setting

Most diamond solitaires are held firm with prongs, which let your diamond show maximum sparkle. However, some women may prefer a bezel setting, which encircles your diamond in metal, so that only the top of the diamond appears.

Then Comes the Wedding Ring

A solitaire leaves her choice of wedding band wide open. She may choose a band (or two) of diamonds or she may decide on an enhancer ring, which surrounds the solitaire with additional sparkle.

As you journey through this exciting engagement process, just remember to relax, soak in the moment, and focus on the love you have for each other.
