Alternative Metals

When it comes to men's bands, gold and silver aren't your only options.

Tungsten carbide resists corrosion, is four times harder than titanium and dense. It's so strong it can't be bent, which means it can't be resized. Polish for tungsten jewelry can be permanent, requiring little maintenance.

Titanium has incredible strength and a unique look. It's three times stronger than steel and lighter; it's also lighter than a similar amount of gold. It's pure - not combined with other metal alloys and is hypoallergenic. Titanium won't corrode and is highly resistant to dents and bending. The most classic colors of titanium are gray and black, with finishes such as satin, frost or high polish. Titanium isn't soldered (melting metal and joining it together), so a titanium ring can't be resized.

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is less likely to rust and corrode than regular steel and other metals. It's strong and durable. The chromium present in stainless steel - generally at least 10.5% - resists oxidation, preventing rust or stains from appearing on the steel's surface.

Cobalt is a strong, durable, naturally white alloy that is highly scratch resistant, doesn't chip or shatter and is hypo-allergenic. Cobalt has a similar look and feel to white gold but can be a cost efficient alternative.
