Enhanced by the technology of Eco-Drive, Citizen created the Calibre 8700, a retrograde perpetual calendar alarm masterpiece unlike any other. Embellished with 36 diamonds on the bezel, this stainless steel two-tone watch also features dual time, month-day-date, 12/24 hour time, non-reflective crystal, a 39mm screw-back case, water-resistance to 100 meters, and a fold-over clasp with hidden double push-button. Citizen Eco-Drive is fueled by light, any light, so it never needs a battery.

WATER RESISTANT

The feature of a watch that denies water and moisture from penetrating inside its case. No watch is completely waterproof, but several can withstand rain and splashing. Water resistance is measured in ATMs (atmospheric pressure). This number is usually printed on the back of the case.

DEPLOYMENT CLASP

This metal watch clasp is divided into three parts that allow the watchband to extend out to fit over the wearer's hand. When closing the clasp, the metal parts fold internally as the top latches onto the band. This clasp can also include push buttons on either side of the band for added security.

What is the difference between a quartz movement and a self-winding movement?
